Dr. Damean Freas

Dr. Damean Freas, DO, FAAPMR, is Chairman of the Board of Clearway Pain Solutions LLC, formerly KURE Pain Management, a portfolio company of New Harbor Capital, where he served as Chief Executive Officer from 2015 until his appointment as Chairman in August 2026. He is board certified and fellowship trained in pain medicine. Dr. Freas earned his medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Pennsylvania, and finished his pain medicine fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center.

A distinguished leader in healthcare policy and governance, Dr. Freas was appointed by Maryland Governor Larry Hogan in 2016 as Chairman of the Maryland Board of Physicians, becoming the youngest Chairman in the Board’s history. He continues to shape healthcare policy at state and national levels, serving as Chairman of the Maryland Medicaid Pharmaceutical & Therapeutics Committee under the Maryland Department of Health and as the American Medical Association’s RUC Advisor for Pain Medicine since 2019.

Dr. Freas currently serves on the Board of Directors for Bloom Health Centers.
