New Harbor Capital Welcomes Dr. Damean Freas as Executive Advisor
New Harbor Capital is excited to welcome Dr. Damean Freas as the newest member of its Executive Advisor team.
New Harbor Capital’s Executive Advisors are a close-knit network of experienced business leaders committed to supporting New Harbor Capital and the growth of our portfolio companies. They have each served as a founder and/or CEO of one or more successful private equity-backed businesses, collectively building and supporting companies within New Harbor’s focus areas. They play a critical role in our investment process and provide valuable perspectives for our portfolio company management teams as board members.

Dr. Damean Freas, DO, FAAPMR, is Chairman of the Board of Clearway Pain Solutions LLC, formerly KURE Pain Management, a portfolio company of New Harbor Capital, where he served as Chief Executive Officer from 2015 until his appointment as Chairman in August 2026. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Bloom Health Centers, New Harbor’s behavioral health portfolio company. He is board certified and fellowship trained in pain medicine. Dr. Freas earned his medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Pennsylvania, and finished his pain medicine fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center.
A distinguished leader in healthcare policy and governance, Dr. Freas was appointed by Maryland Governor Larry Hogan in 2016 as Chairman of the Maryland Board of Physicians, becoming the youngest Chairman in the Board’s history. He continues to shape healthcare policy at state and national levels, serving as Chairman of the Maryland Medicaid Pharmaceutical & Therapeutics Committee under the Maryland Department of Health and as the American Medical Association’s RUC Advisor for Pain Medicine since 2019.
Nationally recognized for his expertise, Dr. Freas was named one of the “150 Pain Management Physicians to Know” by Becker’s ASC Review and honored as a “Rising Star of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation” in the Washington DC-Baltimore-Northern Virginia region by Washington Post Magazine. From 2015 to 2023, he was voted a Top Doc by his peers in What’s Up Annapolis and What’s Up Eastern Shore magazines.
