On January 26th, Tom Formolo chaired Capital Roundtable’s Education Conference held in New York City: Why Investors Are Concentrating On Tech-Enabled Niches in Education.

Technology affects all aspects of the education industry from content to assessment to professional development. All aspects of structured and unstructured data are being affected. Software, apps and digital solutions are transforming the industry. Schools, districts and states must also collect and manage a myriad of testing, performance and compliance metrics which are stored and maintained in disparate systems. This trend has increased the need for data integration and application interoperability. The conference discussed these topics from an investor’s perspective, and was attended by a mix of education industry executives, investors and advisors.

Tom discussed New Harbor’s experience with current and former portfolio companies and the various panelists and speakers shared insights into the latest industry trends and opportunities.
